The Edwards Aquifer Rules (30 TAC Chapter 213) regulate activities having the potential for polluting the Edwards Aquifer

Chapter 3.1

Structural BMPs located in the floodplain should be constructed with the wall elevation of any basins or ponds higher than the elevation of the 100 year flood at that location.

Water quality volume method
Permanent BMPs must remove at least 80% of the increase in TSS load from development; capture volume is sized from annual pollutant load (L = A × P × Rv × C × 0.226) and BMP-specific TSS removal efficiency.

The selected BMP or combination of BMPs must reduce the increase in total suspended solids (TSS) load associated with development by at least 80%.
