Water quality volume method
MRP Provision C.3.d numeric sizing: volume-based treatment sized for stormwater quality volume equal to 80% of annual runoff using the California Stormwater BMP Handbook Approach adapted for Santa Clara Valley (continuous simulation sizing curves in Appendix B; recommended over WEF/URQM). Alternate MRP option: WEF Urban Runoff Quality Management volume capture coefficients. Flow-based treatment sized per MRP C.3.d (including 85th percentile hourly intensity ranking method). Bioretention and flow-through planters may use flow-, volume-, or combination sizing. Regulated Projects typically create/replace ≥5,000 sf impervious (≥10,000 sf detached single-family; ≥1 acre road reconstruction).

Determine the stormwater quality volume equal to 80% of the annual runoff, in accordance with the methodology in Appendix D of the California Stormwater Best Management Practices Handbook (2003) using local rainfall data (known as the California BMP Handbook Approach).
