Post-construction long-term BMP selection must meet Metro’s requirement of an 80% TSS reduction of an average annual urban pollutant load. Nonpoint-source pollution is most prevalent in runoff from small frequent storm events, typically less than 1.1 inches of rainfall; that fact was used in preparing selection, sizing, approach, and maintenance criteria in the BMP fact sheets. Stormwater quality management involves pollutant control, capture, and treatment for new development and redevelopment.

Long-term BMP selection must be based upon the ability to meet Metro’s requirement of an 80% TSS reduction of an average annual urban pollutant load.
