Water quality volume method
Water Quality Volume = volume necessary to collect 100% of runoff from a specified event; detain ≥24 hours from 1-year HWL (detention) or 2-year HWL (certain BMPs) until complete drainage. Release-rate design for Class 2 grading/drainage: 1-year (≤0.08 cfs/acre with 24-hr detention), 10-year 0.08 cfs/acre, 100-year 0.30 cfs/acre (Illinois River direct discharges exempt from 10-/100-year limits but still need 24-hr 1-year WQ detention).
