Water quality volume method
Capture and treat a water quality volume typically equal to the first 1 inch or first 1.5 inches of rainfall, sized with Schueler's Simple Method (Appendix A). Recommended BMP-specific treatment volumes include: wet detention — first 0.5 inch of runoff or 1.5 inches from impervious area; dry retention and constructed wetlands — first 1.0 inch of runoff or 2.5 inches from impervious area (whichever is greater for dry retention).

There will be a volume of stormwater that must be captured and treated prior to release (typically first 1 inch or first 1.5 inches of rainfall).
