Relationship to state manual
adopts state manual directly

All designs must follow the criteria and standards contained in the most recent version of the New York State Stormwater Design Manual

Guidance

Design Criteria

Design storm return periods (years)
1-year, 2-year, 10-year, 25-year, 100-year

1-, 10-, and 100- year storm event / 25-year / 2-year

SWPPP requirements

Water quality volume method
Designs must follow the most recent New York State Stormwater Management Design Manual (WQv and RRv targets). Green Infrastructure hierarchy (Green Code 7.3.4): conservation → bioretention/swales/porous pavement → green/blue roofs/cisterns → off-site GI → subsurface infiltration → underground detention. Combined/storm-relief sewer connections: post-construction 25-year peak ≤ pre-construction 2-year peak (TR-55 + NYSMDM).

Water Quality Volume (WQv) and Runoff Reduction Volume (RRv) Targets

SWPPP A.6

Peak flow calculation method(s)
Pre- and post-construction 1-, 10-, and 100-year storm calculations (storm-only connections), TR-55 + NYSMDM for combined/storm-relief: 25-year post ≤ 2-year pre peak, WQv and RRv targets per NYSMDM

post-construction 25-year storm peak flows to the storm relief/ combined sewer system are less than or equal to pre-construction 2-year storm peak flows
